We are local on the Island. South Padre Island Trips is located on South Padre Island, our address is 2600 Padre Blvd. South Padre Island, Tx 78597. We are on the entire North side of the Beach Club Building and across the street from the Kraken Bar & Grill. Some rentals may allow a 24 hour courtesy hold in order to secure your reservation. To be fair to all of our guests, we do not allow holds on our homes for more than 24 hours. We do not require that when a guest books 100% of the money is paid provided your reservation is more than 30 days in advance. You will be required to pay a deposit of 50% down, and the balance is due 8 days prior to arrival. For our Winter Texans guests, we offer other payment terms. You also must sign an electronic signature rental agreement in order to secure your reservation.


If your reservation date is within 30 days of your stay we require the balance be paid in full at the time of booking and those payments are non refundable.


Once your payment is processed, we will send a rental agreement for your signature, which you can fill out and submit electronically. At that point your reservation will be confirmed.

Unlike most South Padre Rental Companies that have a 4 pm check in and 10 am check out – we do not. We on a complimentary basis have the following convenient check in / check out times:

Check in is 3:00pm.
Check out is 11:00am.

On a space available basis we do sometimes allow earlier check ins (contact our office day of check in 956 242 0904) We generally do not have nor allow late check outs, sorry.

General rule is 25 years of age or older as the primary tenant or guest that made the reservation, and we DO NOT allow you to change the primary tenant name to someone that is 25 once the booking has already been made.

Now, we do have some properties that allow you to book if you are under 25 years of age, however we then do require you pay a 1 time damage coverage protection plan fee of $59 to $150 (depending on property size & value, non refundable fee) AND a refundable damage deposit of $500 to $1500 due prior to check in, and refunded upon request within 7 days of departure.

Please remember, the house rules do apply to all guests no matter what you have paid, so most importantly you have all your friends and family on board to abide so no issues as we don’t want anyone to suffer the disappointment of an eviction with no refund.

No, we unfortunately do not offer travel insurance. This can be purchased by doing an internet search. All payments and deposits made less than 31 days in advance of stay are 100% non refundable for any reason.

Winter Texan deposits are considered medium term rentals, and have different cancel policies, FYI with limited to no refundability whatsoever.

Sorry, no. We only allow the amount of guests that the listing shows, never more even if you think there is space. There are also local ordinances and laws against over occupancy (fire code issued by fire marshal) and if you exceed, we are required to evict you without a refund.

YES – here in the great State of Texas infants are considered PEOPLE and are included in the maximum amount of allowed guests with no exceptions granted for safety reasons in particular!

We are very sorry, but we cannot allow any more guests in the home than the maximum amount approved in your rental agreement. If you plan to have additional guests, we recommend you choose a larger home that can accommodate more guests.

You cannot have more vehicles than the max indicated in the rental agreement. GENERALLY we allow a max of 1 car for a 1 bedroom condo, 2 for a 2 or 3 bedroom condo, and each home differs from 2 to max 5 cars depending on its size. Please contact our office.

Yes, golf carts are unfortunately counted in the total allowed count. Be careful – we have security at all properties and if there are too many cars, they can make us evict with no refund and we have no say in that matter.

As sometimes people drive separately, please consider parking the extra vehicles at the following locations:

  1. Gulf Blvd. Street parking is free, though on weekend can be hard to find
  2. Convention & visitors bureau/center. Generally this is free of charge
  3. InterModalTranspotation Center. This is located as you cross the causeway bridge just to the right near the entrance to Margaritaville. There is also a small surface City Owned parking lot across the street from the entrance to La Copa Hotel. These are no charge parking but on weekends, cannot be counted on
  4. The Post Office. It is well lit, police patrolled, and we have never had a car towed from there.

 

Understand certain properties require the use of parking permits, and the failure to display may result in the tow of your vehicle at a cost of $300 to $400 which you are responsible for. They do take photos and security checks, FYI. Additionally, we do not have “guest parking” nor the ability to “sell you additional permits” at any of our rentals.

Please inquire if you have questions about this. If you are towed, we cannot assist in this matter.

Yes, you will be able to bring your dog (s) with you if the home is identified as “pet friendly”. The only pets we allow are dogs and/or birds. Each home will specify if the home is pet friendly or not, and any other restrictions–such as number of dogs and combined weight of the dogs. We charge a one time, non-refundable pet fee per pet of $75 per pet.

Please – disclose pets. If you do not and they are discovered or reported, we are required by our Owners to evict with no refund even IF IT IS a pet friendly home. Please be kind J

Additionally, pets are not allowed on furniture or in beds, and must stay in common areas of the home. If you are staying at a condo complex, they are NOT allowed in the pool areas.

 If you leave your dog at the rental property, it needs to be confined to a kennel until someone is home and may not be left alone to bark. You must keep your dog on a leash at all times when outside of the home. You are required to pick up all dog droppings in the yard or common areas at time they occur.

Ultimately, a few things to know:

  • If a pet was allowed on furniture (usually very obvious) we will charge the card on file a $150 excessive cleaning fee
  • If we receive complaints of barking, we do have to evict without refund. You know your pet – some are better off boarded than at a vacation rental property

 

Service animals are generally allowed at ANY property with documentation, however the same rules and fees as above do apply. Please be aware that Sapphire does NOT allow animals nor service animals of any kind unless you are an owner with no exceptions.

Unfortunately, we are not permitted by the City of South Padre Island to allow unregistered guests NOR events of any kind at vacation rental homes nor condos

Yes. The noise ordinance is applicable at all hours and regardless of the cause. Very simply, do not bother any of your neighbors at any time. After 10:00 PM, noise must not be detectable outside the home. The City of South Padre Island has strict noise ordinances and will send code enforcement and/or police to evict with no refund.

Yes, all of our properties are equipped with fully stocked kitchens. All kitchens have a drip coffee maker with a starter set up of coffee, creamer, sweetener, though not replenished nor unlimted. We also have toaster, pots & pans, dishes, glasses, silverware, and cooking utensils and fully operating appliances.

Yes, there are linens and towels provided in each vacation rental. All bedding is provided and towels are supplied. Beach towels and or beach gear are not included so we recommend that you bring your own from home.

All homes include sheets and towels for each guest, fully stocked kitchens, as well as a basic starter pack of supplies including:

    • Shampoo
    • Soap
    • Toilet Paper
    • Paper towels
    • Trash bags
    • Dish soap
    • Dishwasher soap
    • Kitchen Sponge
    • Amenities kit of non stick cooking spray, salt & pepper, coffee & decaf, tea, creamer, and sweetener.

 

Please be aware this is a starter pack only, it is not unlimited nor replenished so plan accordingly

 

No, our South Padre Beach Rentals are cleaned before your arrival and after your departure. Guests can schedule additional housekeeping during their stay for an extra charge – please contact us for details.

At time of check out, we simply ask that you take out all trash to dumpster or cans, turn up thermostats to 78 degrees, and place all dishes in dishwasher & turn on

Yes, all of our properties are strictly non-smoking and that includes the balconies, common areas, pool areas, and patios whether that be tobacco, vape, or the Devil’s Lettuce!

We do not. Unfortunately due to the high salt air content (salinity) as well as intense UV rays here on the Island, all of this stuff just falls apart. Therefore, please bring your own. There are many companies on the beach that rent 2 chairs and an umbrella for $50 cash or a pop up and 2 chairs for $75. There is no website to go to but there is also no need. They will not run out.

The answer is – not great. We have spectrum as our sole provider, it goes down a lot (even completely) for full days. We recommend highly you have a hot spot on your cell phone as a back up as that tends to work ok in a pinch

First and foremost, you must book direct (not with Airbnb, vrbo, Expedia, bookings.com, etc)  We do not offer discounts like this on those sites as we have fees they charge us. We also do NOT offer discounts on stays of less than 3 nights. Therefore if you are booking just 1 or 2 nights, these discounts do not apply

Active military receive 50% off the cleaning fee you see. If you are a VET, you will receive $20 off the cleaning fee. Past clients/repeat guests receive 10% off the nightly rental rates we advertise. Again, you must stay at least 3 nights to qualify.
